You're probably wondering…
What is PROT INN?
PROT INN is an Ecuadorian specialty coffee and healthy food chain founded in 2017. It operates its own shops across Quito, Cumbayá, Guayaquil, Samborondón and Daule in three formats: full coffee shops, to-go kiosks inside malls and Fybeca pharmacies, and a Signature location at Plaza Lagos Town Center. Its menu pairs Ecuadorian-origin specialty coffee with all-day breakfast, açaí bowls, wraps, sourdough sandwiches, protein shakes, in-house pastry and protein ice cream. It publishes per-serving macros — protein, carbohydrates, fat and calories — on the menu itself, item by item and not in a separate section: the whole menu is calculated, not just a healthy selection.
Can I eat well and eat properly at the same time?
That is the question PROT INN was built around. Short answer: yes, and it shouldn't cost you anything. Every dish carries calculated macros — protein, carbohydrates, fat and calories — and you can read them on the menu before ordering. There is no healthy section hidden at the back, because the whole menu is one.
What should I order on a first visit?
In the morning, a tigrillo costeño and a cortado. If you're properly hungry, the Signature Pancakes. If you're counting macros, a Gainer shake or an açaí bowl. And if you came for the coffee, order the cold brew: it's extracted for 18 hours cold.
Where can I see how much protein each dish has?
On the menu itself, under each item: protein, carbohydrates, fat and calories per serving. The menu page also opens with the ten highest-protein dishes, ranked. The strongest clear 40 g — Pollo Pesto reaches 52 g, the Chicken & Beans Quesadilla 49 — and the shakes sit around 30 g under 350 calories. No need to ask at the counter.
Where does the coffee come from?
Ecuador. Loja, Pichincha, Manabí and the Amazon grow high-altitude coffee that is almost always exported before the country tastes it. We roast it here, on two profiles: a full-bodied one for espresso and milk drinks, and a lighter one for filter methods and cold brew.
I'm keto, vegan or coeliac. Is there anything for me?
Yes, and you won't have to ask for favours. There are keto pancakes and cookies, vegan toast with chickpea hummus, açaí bowls and gluten-free options, all on the regular menu with their macros printed next to them. If you have an allergy, say so at the bar: the kitchen is in plain view and we can tell you exactly what's in each item.
Is breakfast served all day?
All day, every day. Tigrillo, bolón, avotoast, waffles and pancakes are available from open to close. We never understood the rule that breakfast ends at eleven.
Do you deliver?
Yes. Uber Eats is our strongest partner, and the “Order delivery” button at the top takes you straight there: Uber Eats uses your account address and shows the PROT INN that delivers to you first. We're also on Rappi and PedidosYa depending on the area, and each location page lists its own exact links.
Can I stay a while or work there?
That's what the full coffee shops are for: a long table, a terrace and coffee that holds up all afternoon. The kiosk formats inside malls and Fybeca pharmacies are to-go, and their pages say so.
Are you opening new locations?
Often. That's why this page doesn't state a location count: the Locations list is always current and is the best place to check. If you'd like to work with us, every opening creates roles.
